Just Curious, I was interested in buying a BB 9900, and was wondering why the price is so high for a year old device.

The 9900 is still the current device for Rim and one of its best sellers.

The Bold 9900 commands high price cause people are still willing to pay high for it. When there is no demand for it then the price would drop...

I always thought the same thing, you just have to watch your carriers website to see when the Bold goes on sale.
My carrier still list the Bold as 600$ I logged in and checked the price periodically till I saw it on sale. I was able to get it for 350$ out of contract with a 50$ mail in rebate on 29 July.
So for me a little watching and waiting went a long way while I compared and researched the Bold then pounced when it went on sale and saved 300$.

OR there's always ebay amazon and craigslist.

Blackberry Bold 9700 is a nice mobile phone. To save its battery life just keep bluetooth, Wifi connection off without requirement. Keep your phone in strong network area and When there is no network, off radio then brightness, ringtone and vibrations are also affect on battery life. Close all applications after use.

You might want to check out the Torches with a bigger screen. The price is a little less and one is a slider the other is touch screen.
