There are quite a few sites in the UK also taking pre-orders for unlocked 9900's. They all state shipping on 15th of August.

Back when the Bold 9000 was a hot item, it went on presale. Everyone went nuts. It didn't hit until almost a month and a half later.

I just pre-ordered my 9900 (simlock free) a few moments ago.
On Amazon they sell it for 520 GBP/855 USD... I just pre-ordered it for 525 Euro's (including shipping), which is about 460 GBP/755 USD.

Here in The Netherlands pre-orders started like 2/3 weeks ago...

    - I can't wait!!

Why would you preorder a 9900. On the day of release you simply go down to the store and get one. These places you preorder are not going to be getting them before you can at the store and now you are going to wait for shipping.

True, but in The Netherlands most of the stores that you can actually walk into tend to be more expensive. Online stores are cheaper in most cases. So I'd rather wait an extra day or two than pay 50 euro more (for example) and have it right away.

I'd rather drive to T-Mobiie on the 17th and pick it up for $199... I've been milking this upgrade forever!

That is a valid point. In that case preordering is a very wise choice!

Plus, here in Australia most of the carriers SIM lock Blackberry's.... and the actual release date may be over a month behind the UK and USA. We're online shopping die-hards!
