- After reading a few threads, I decided to try get some info on any new devices.
It was a fail, but this lady told me the 9650 is discontinued and not out of stock as I previously read. So as we all wait for the day to arrive whenever it may be. I figure this could be informative/entertaining at the same time. Here's my chat:

Teresa: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Eric: Yes, i'm trying to find out when the new blackberry bold will be available for purchase, the 9930 I believe
Eric: MY current device 9650 is ready to croak, I came on see if I could buy another one but I don't see them on the site anymore
Teresa: I am sorry However we have not heard of when that phone will be available
Eric: Can you ask your supervisor? My friend in New Jersey said his VZW store will have them for sale tomorrow.
Teresa: I am sorry however there is no news as of yet when the phone will be released. No one has heard anything about it
Eric: No one has or just you?
Eric: Some VZW shops are waiting for them so someone knows
Eric: Maybe you're not up to date with the latest devices which is understandable. I'm sure your supervisor knows. I was going to buy 4 of them at full retail.
Teresa: No one has heard of it coming
Eric: Well where is the 9650?
Eric: It vanished from the site, I was at the very least looking to replace that.
Teresa: it has been discontinued
Eric: Ugh, I need a slice of toast.
Eric: So its discontinued and no other device is said to be coming.
Teresa: We have no knowledge of a new phone coming out at any time soon .
Eric: You're a stickler, or misinformed, i'll have my CEO call you guys. Have a good day.
Teresa: Great. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Eric: Yeah, go ask your supervisor when the bold is coming
Eric: Just playing, i'll call and ask myself.
Teresa: I have they do not know
Eric: Alright, gotta run, the dog is chewing the rest of my Bold 9650 :[
Teresa: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again. Have a great day!sf49ers likes this.08-10-11 03:01 PMLike 1 -

- My chat is in a different thread but I did go to the store today.
The Bold 9650 is not on the shelves but she said they some still in the back.
She also said that the 9930 is not at the warehouse where the iPhone was rumored to be for 3 months before public release.
Not sure I believe her. :lol08-10-11 03:27 PMLike 0 -

- ^Didn't imply anything groud breaking would come from a chat, more or less some entertainment/reading material while waiting for the device to actually be released. Hence how I tell the rep I need some toast after she tells me the 9650 is discontinued. Untie the knot in your panties. Cmon

John: Hi, i'm a current AT&T user
John: If i were to buy a Blackberry from Verizon, can i use the "Bridge" Functionality, with no extra cost to my plan?
Matt: Hello! How can I help you?
John: Bridge functionality on the Playbook
Matt: Yes, you can.
John: At no additional cost?
John: cause AT&T is saying they'll charge an extra 20 dollars
Matt: With your data and mobile broadband connect plan, there will be no additional cost.
John: broadband connect?
Matt: Yes, it'll allow you to use the Bridge function as much as you'd like.
John: I'm talking about solely the Birdge feature, not tethering
John: Would that be an extra cost or just the data?
Matt: If you're not tethering, then there will be no extra cost.
John: Ok, that's the answer i was looking for
John: thank you!
Matt: Do you have the Blackberry picked out that you want?
John: I thought the Bold 9930 came out for Verizon
John: But i guess it hasn't yet.
John: And the only one you have now is the Curve on the site.
Matt: Right, yes.
John: Do you know when the Bold will be out, IF its coming out? I know sprint is coming out with it on the 21st. I'm deciding between them and Verizon right now
Matt: That's a great question. Is it okay if I take a moment to research that for you?
John: No problem.
Matt: I'll be right back.
John: Thanks again for your help! If there's any way to send a recommendation, let me know.
Matt: You're very welcome.

Elsberth: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
George: Hello
Elsberth: Hello!
Elsberth: How can I help you today?
George: I am currently an AT&T Customer, and my contract is running out. I was considering switching to verizon
Elsberth: I will be happy to help you with that.
George: I currently own a blackberry curve on the AT&T network. I saw my friends bold, and I instantly fell in love with it
George: if I switch, can i get the bold?
Elsberth: Yes you sure can .
George: Cause I don't see it listed on the website
Elsberth: Let me check .
George: thanks
George: Thanks
Elsberth: Looks like there is only the BlackBerry Curve
George: oh
George: Well I already have that phone
George: so there's really no interest in getting it again
Elsberth: You may want to try a local store.
Elsberth: Yes we usually have it online .
George: I already called my local store. They said a new blackberry bold 9930 is coming out
George: so the older ones arent currently in stock
George: is that true?
Elsberth: At this time it is out of stock online right now.
George: But will there be a new one available like the store said?
Elsberth: Yes you can check the store they may have some in stock .
George: I already checked with the store. They told me that all of the older models of the bold are discontinued because the new one is coming out soon
George: do you have any idea when the new one is coming out? that would make it easier to make the switch
Elsberth: Let me check that .
George: Thank you
Elsberth: At this time there is not a new bold coming out . The site is restocked each week and you can check back by Monday for the new stock .
George: The store said there is a new bold coming out...
George: And when I looked though the instructional videos for the old bold, they had a video of the new one
Elsberth: At this time online we don't have any information at this time about a new bold coming out.
George: There's a lady in the video on the verizon site with the new bold
Elsberth: It may be coming out in stores and not online.
Elsberth: The phones that are offered in the store are sometimes different from online.
George: Can you ask your supervisor or something? Cause with just a quick google search, I found tons of results of it coming out for verizon
George: and one of them says a possible August 25th date for the online release
Elsberth: I can understand what your saying but at this time in this department we don't have any information as of yet of a new bold coming out any time soon.
George: So you can't ask a supervisor or manager?
George: Or make a quick call to the sales department to check?
Elsberth: I am talking to my supervisor right now and she said we don't have access to new phones that are coming out as of yet .
George: Wow that really sucks
George: I really wanted to switch over tonight
George: but I guess I'll just renew my contract with AT&T since you have no idea of a release date
Elsberth: I am so sorry for that .
George: No, it's okay
Elsberth: I wish I could just give you a date .
Elsberth: But we truly don't have access to that information at this time.
George: It's not my loss. It's just sad that Verizon can't give me a date for their new phone
George: Okay no problem
George: thank you for your time

Teresa: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Jim: Hello. I am currently an AT&T customer. My contact just ended last night, but I am pretty satisfied with my service with AT&T. The coverage is pretty good, and the customer service is descent. The only issue is that I own a BlackBerry Curve 3G with them. I saw news online that the new BlackBerry Bold 9930 was going to be released on Verizon. I was very skeptical about it, until I saw that the old Bold was taken off the website. (A Possible sign for a close release for the new bold). When I looked at the RIM website, they confirmed that they are going to release the new Bold on Verizon in the near future. And when I looked on the instructional videos in the help section for the old bold, it had videos of people using the new bold. My only reason to switch to Verizon, is for me to be able to get that new bold. If I know it's coming out soon, I'll definitely switch over tonight and order it when it comes out. But if it's just a ellaborate myth, I'm just gonna stay with AT&T. Can you give me any information on the new BlackBerry Bold 9930, or a possible release date?
Teresa: I'd be happy to assist you.
Jim: so do you have any info on it?
Teresa: I am sorry however they have not provided a release date on it yet . However it should be shortly
Jim: haha
Jim: any idea how short?
Jim: it could be our little secret
Jim: and I'll switch over tonight!
Jim: I just don't want to switch over for no reason
Teresa: i wish I knew as you said with them removing the other it should be soon. However when you switch over you will need to order your phones at that time or you will have to pay full retail when the new phone comes out . does that make sense
Jim: yes thanks for the help!08-11-11 11:29 PMLike 0 - Imagine being a VZW CS person and finding your post here. Lol. Horrible.
