I thought I would post pics of my Bold 9000, 9700, 9900 and my recently acquired 9790
It's to show you the difference in size and if you're still on the fence on whether to buy the 9900 or the 9790. IMO, I think the 9900 has the best keyboard in the industry. I'm having a hard time adjusting to the 9790 keyboard. The keys on both edges are curved a bit too far and I find it hard to press on them. The keys on the 9700 are spaced out better. Having said that, I don't know if I will be keeping the 9790. I might exchange it for the white 9900. Is owning 2 9900's crazy? I just love the 9900. Honestly, the keyboard is by far the best and the build quality is a lot better than the 9790. I do like the size of the 9790 for one handed use. But the 9900 feels better overall. Just my opinion.

Here are the pics. Sorry they didn't turn out good. And sorry about the iPhone4. It's for sale.

The 9790 is definitely smaller than the 99XX, but the screen, from the pictures, really doesn't seem all that much smaller. Owning both, what's your take on screen size and functionality between the 9900 and the 9790?

Awesome collection btw, thanks for sharing! Can't wait to see the white 9900.

Great collection! I still have my old 9000 and it's been used by my dad now and he loves it. The 9700 was a great phone too. Even the Iphone had my attention for 13 months but after that I sold it and now I'm back with a black 9900, awesome device!

Cool collection. Nothing wrong with having two 9900's. I have 2. One brand new one and till I get it repaired this week, a water damaged one which atm is a paper weight.

I have found that using any other Blackberry since I got my first 9900 that they seem tiny when typing.

Still would like an older Bold though.

I have had most every BB at some point. I find it difficult to go back to the smaller form factor (9700, 970, 9650, etc) after using a 9000, 9630, 9900, 9930, etc. The keyboard is just plain awesome on the 99XX series. The 9000 was king when it was released and I used mine up until about a month ago.

I haven't seen a 9790 up close and personal but I will say I am not a fan of the keys on that puppy.

Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments! To answer some of your questions, I had the 9780 but I got rid of it because of the stuttering keyboard. I went through 5 of them and figured that was enough. LOL. I have nothing against white. I'm leaning towards exchanging the 9790 for a white 9900. I agree that once you've used the 9900 it's really hard to go back to a smaller form factor. Honestly, it's the keyboard on the 9900 that makes this device a real champ!

If you have used the 9900 since if first came out, you will noticed a difference in the screen size. Even though there isn't a big difference in screen size spec wise, as a user I do find that the 9790 screen is too small for a touchscreen. I have been playing around with the 9790 for the past few hours and I can't seem to get used to the keyboard, esp the keys at both ends of the phone. This is the deal breaker for me. I wanted to have the Bold series as my collection but the 9790 would be sitting most of the time looking pretty. It is a nice looking phone. But the 9900 is the best BlackBerry to date.

    You're welcome.

Thanks! Of course I have the Playbook! I have the 64gb one. Do you really want me to post a picture of the Playbook next to my Bold collection?
