Which I haven't touched all week since getting my new 9930 and I have to admit, the 9700 is a dam nice phone. It just feels right and solid compared to the 99xx, but I still would not trade my 9930 for a 9700

I went from a 9700 to my Torch. Loved my Bold 9700 so much that I actually went back to using it over my Torch.

It is a damn nice phone, HOWEVER, does not compare to my 9900. I don't think I will be able to type on it now that I have been typing on the 9900.

Me too, got rid of a 9810, went to a 9700 until my 9900 came today and don't think I can go to another phone. 9900 is incredible!

Best I ever had, I made it a point to use all the Bolds that come out. From 9000 > 9700 > 9780 > 9900. None come close

Sinful that the 9700 and 9780 were even labeled 'Bold'. Ah, but alas, all is right with the world... RIM actually went backwards in design, a very rare occurence. That's got to tell you a lot about these types of forums. We all yelled loud, and got paid! Hope RIM never makes the mistake of smalling down their keyboards without offering larger keyboarded (updated) devices as well.
    Down with teeny tiny.

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be going back to the 9780 from the 9900, and it's not a pleasant prospect. But at least the 9780 gets me through a day. If there were only some way I could stretch it a bit...

i picked up my cousins old 9780 today and compared it with my 9900. the 9780 feels so small compared to mine, but the 9900 keyboard is soooo much nicer
but the 9780 feels like a nice little phone

I used to love 9700 and then I found that this bit larger keyboard on 9900 is much better for me. In fact, I think I type bit faster.

Too bad that RIM has issues with quality control and the Bold 9700 quality is far better than most Bold 9900. Come on RIM!

Though I love my 9900 & it serves me well, there's something durable & rugged about the 9700. I for one actually like the size. The 9900 seems a lot more delicate & though its a fantastic phone & I'll never go back after using it, the 9700 did its job for 2 years without letting me complain.

You went from a 9700 "GSM" to a 9930 "CDMA"?

    Couldn't make that 9930 a 9900?

I love the 9900 in every way over the 9700 except for the comfort in the hand.

    The 9900:
    - Typing experience is awesome
    - speed is fast
    - screen is killer

    The 9700:
    - felt more durable in the hand
    - didn't worry so much about dropping it. I am aways worried that I will drop my 9900. After 4 weeks, still not used to the size.
