    My 9930 has just started doing this.

    It will blink and blink and blink, even after I open a tweet or new email. There is no icon or anything showing that something is unread.

    I've checked my notification settings and everything! I even did a battery pull, and it still blinks.

    What could it be?

    It may be that someone has added you to BBM or has changed their BBM status. Sometimes I get a notification for that.

    hmmm. It has finally stopped but I didn't do anything. Its so weird.

    I have visual voicemail on mine and it can take a while before my led stop blinking, even tough I read or listen to the messsage.

    Most people experience that very same issue due to a WhatsApp bug. Might be your case.
