OS Upgrade/Enterprise Question
Hey all, I've got a question about updating a new phone on BES. Up until this past Monday I had a 9650 set up as a personal device on the company's Verizon plan using BIS. I've run through so many OS versions and upgrades I really couldn't count them all, bricked the device from bad ones, restored it, etc. In other words, this isn't my first rodeo with an OS upgrade or troubleshooting a BB.
This past week I upgraded through work to a 9930 device. Instead of the BIS, they (unprompted) integrated the phone into our enterprise server, which I'm loving so far. I managed to make it almost a week without getting the itch to mess with it, but now I'm wanting to put the sprint .267 release on in place of the .163 since Verizon likes to drag their feet. My IT policy is wide open, so basically all the Enterprise server is doing is syncing contacts, calendar, email, etc. not really restricting any actions as far as I can tell.
I downloaded the sprint release as usual, installed the device software on the computer, and opened up DM to run the install process since I'd seen several posts about that being the way to go for enterprise devices. When I look for installed software versions, it's recognizing the .267 but not giving me an option to install it. In the application section of DM, it doesn't show any new software available. I also tried this with apploader.exe and it doesn't show any upgrades available either. Also, my vendor.xml file keeps reappearing when I reboot the computer - I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling DM for this issue yet.
Questions are, 1) if I use DM, I should be able to reactivate enterprise without going through IT, correct? And 2) any ideas on how to get DM to pick up on the new software?
