I have this OS installed and for me best by far.

when phone is on idle i only get a 1% drain rate which is great

battery still has 45% when it shuts down at 11pm after coming on at 7am

    Hi
I recently updated to .714. With the previous version (0.342) I could select 2G, 2G&3G or 3G. Now the 2G only option is not there anymore. Anyway this feature can be made available with 714? It makes a huge difference to battery life.

    thanks

Nothing to do with the OS, it's set by your carrier.

I keep trying different operating systems and find myself coming back to this one. It gives me the best battery life and reception. (maybe it's due to my carrier)

Have you tried the BL Hybrids on your 9900 ?

I have used nothing else since the first once came out last July and have loved every one of them.

No I haven't, because those Hybrids are pre shrunk and have all the languages removed

    that's one point,

point 2 is I don't know which SFI to mix with which Hybrid, there are many of them it has become very confusing

please give me the link to the best hybrid and to the SFI file

But then the languages concern also comes to mind

The latest build RC15 comes with a separate Language File that folks who need the full set of languages can paste into the Java so that problem should be solved for you.

As you can see from my signature, I am runing the Hybrid over the .923 base OS and it works well for me, but it is compatibe with all OS's n the 8XX and 9XX series wth the exception of .862

If you don't fancy .923 I have heard good reports of the Telstra .912 as a base.

Uninstall all OS's from your PC and download and install the base OS of your choice and delete vendor files.

    Download and unzip RC15 file.

Go to the installed base OS on your PC and open the Java Folder. Open the Java Folder in RC15 and copy all the files and paste (overwrite) into the base OS Java Folder.

Copy and paste (overwrite) the .alx files from RC15 into your base OS.

Open the RC15 languge folder and copy and paste into the base OS Java folder and you have created the Hybrid to load up.

Shrink to taste, do a backup, wipe your 9900 and launch app loader. That's all there is to it !!!

I always do a fresh install of apps from App World after restoring data rather than installing from backup.

For first 2-3 days do 2 battery pulls per day at least 6 hours apart.

Any issues or questions ask away in the Hybrid Forum, Sator, the guy who builds the OS monitors the thread on a daily basis as do I and a number of others

Yes, RC15 will work with .912. Just having kept up with the .912 OS thread it doesn't seem to be a stellar build. That's all I meant. If the .sfi works well on your network then you will be fine.

Just installed it bro, had to delete the 2nd vendor.xml file before I could install it

I shrunk it using BBHTool 2.4.9.7a

PS: that tool hasn't been updated in ages, any better tool out there?

wow, first error upon boot up for the first time:

    "Uncaught exception:

    Application
net_rim_bb_addressbook_app(128) is not responding; process terminated"

This is exactly why I stopped bothering with Hybrids

I did the instructions you gave me step by step

Edit: I did a battery pull and now the message didn't come up.

    restoring data now
