Why should the carrier source bother anyone ?

I'm surprised this hasn't gotten many hits yet either. I just saw it this morning and I'm on vacation... No time to play with my OS. Hopefully I'll be able to stay off CrackBerry, but that isn't looking good so far.

Watch... This will end up being the Verizon official OS as well once we finally see it roll out.

Now running this build on my 9930, and so far so good. I should know more later, going to test everything out.

That means African/ Middle East/ America I suppose (def. not Asian)

    Seems good:

The C Spire network is built for data devices, supporting the highest percentage of customers with smartphones in the U.S. wireless communications industry. The company also has been recognized with the best network connection reliability among U.S. wireless carriers, according to a study by Urban Airship on carrier connection durability among 77 service providers worldwide, Connection Durability Study.

C Spire has invested more than $1 billion in network infrastructure improvements since 2003 - adding 536 new cell sites to its high-speed wireless broadband network. With 1,840 total cell sites in operation and access to 3,390 route miles of high-capacity network fiber through its sister company, Telepak Networks Inc., C Spire has one of the industry's most powerful and fastest mobile broadband networks.

I've been running .402 for over a month now and it has been the best build so far since I got my 9930 October last year. As in the best, response-wise, battery-wise, signal-wise. I usually get all giddy whenever a new OS (official or leak) becomes available, but I'm still on the fence over this one. I think I'll wait for more comments from those eager beavers who installed this one before I decide to give it a try.

Nice post. I have the 402 also on 9930 and have used every update the day it came out since before time. I love the speed, battery ok, the device is awesome paired w/ the playbook. What drives me nuts is the 80MB memory drain over 24 hours - 140 to 60MB. Am I the only one? I've deleted evertything one by one and experimented. I get drain no matter what. If this could be stopped I'd be in no hurry for BB10.

Mine is running for 18 hours and I have only lost 16MB. On the previous build (342) I had to pull the battery every day because I would have around 8% left! Now I can go for a few days no problem!

I'm a little hesitant to download. I will wait for some folks to have some positive feedback. Cannot afford to brick my 9900.... I've never bricked it before and want to keep that track record going

.402 was horrible for me. GPS was always way off and boot time was crazy bad. i dropped down to .342 and just upgraded to this today. Definitely doesnt have the boot bug and gps is much better but everything else is too young to give stats on.

You're using the 9900. Your device is not compatible for a 9930 build, you may risk bricking your phone.

Could it be the perception that this release is a step down from the most current 402?

Too soon to tell. .402 has been good for me so far so I think I'll wait for others to decide if it's worth going down a step.

Is the IT Policy still in the .355 build after you've gone down from .402? (Options>Device>Device and Status Information), type BUYR and "Buyers Remorse" shows up on the bottom of this page.
