After half a day it seems wifi signal is stronger and overall everythings seems quicker; apps open and close fast as well as browsing seems a bit faster also. Battery was good on .585 for me and .590 seems the same so far.

Dont know what's the problem with RIM...they just can't release a bugfree software for their so called flagship phone? No wonder they aren't at the top of their game unlike iOS which has so less frequent software upgrades...
Isn't Apple still working on bug fixes for iOS 5?

9% discharge rate.. a few calls, twitter. Did around 3 battery pulls for the OS to settle down. But i know, its too early to determine the discharge rate. And yes, I noticed the sudden 8% drain from 61 to 53, after i installed the OS in the morning (when i finished installing the batt percentage was around 65). Will charge it fully and check if this is happening.

Overall everything is quick, reboot time is also almost same as other builds.

When will RIM concretely acknowledge and resolve the battery issue.

Just a small note, i had a word with Mugen Power about replacement 9900 battery (though i saw everywhere that they arent gonna release a battery for 9900). They initially told me RIM has blocked the use of 3rd party batteries on 9900. Then i asked them if its possible after OS 7.1. Below is the response

    Dear Sridhar S,

    Thank you for your email!

Just confirm because our technology group cannot unlock the battery code, so we cannot make the battery for this model, if they can unlock the code, I will let you know!

Please contact me if you need any additional info.

    Best Regards

.590 + 7.1.0.150 cods file work so great!
Would you mind posting detailed instructions about injecting 7.1.0.150 cod files into.590? Thanks!

Is the general consensus that this is the best build for battery life on the 9900?

For me so far... took the phone off full charge at 0000, 0330 now, battery is at 90% --- nothing was really performed at that time... just Gmail 3rd party app running in the background on top of whatever the usual stuff is running. Will report back later.

My Battery with this build drop from 99+ to 92 in less than an hour, than every 15min I probably see 1% drop, so around 4% discharge per hour.

For me, I'm not using any battery app because i think the app is the cause of the draining problem. But generally from 503 , 540 , 503/585 , 503/590 is about same. Everyday i unplugged my phone from charger at 6:30 - 6:45 am because my clock ring at the time and at 12 - 1 pm my battery will stand at 85 - 90%. And have no problem to go through a day until 2 - 2:30 am before plugin charger.

I'm using BBM a lot, more than 300 BBM i received a day. If I'm at office, i would turn 3G cause at my office the 3G is superb and edge at home but connect to wifi.

But I love this build since it more snappier than any other build. But its depend on the user, not everyone experience the same as mine.

yeah this build is almost as fast as the 7.1 beta. lets hope it's more stable then that one. Thanx for the feedback.

About that 92% thing, it happend again, but my battery stayed a lot longer at 99+ than with .540. So I only think the 92% thing is a graphical thing. Battery performance is comperable with 540, maaybe little bit better. Boots are very quick. Overal .590 is a good os, if youre on 540 just upgrade, .590 is for sure not worse than 540. So it can only get better with the upgrade

I'm on 503 and it's been fantastic from the start. Not the smallest hiccup--ever. I tried 7.1 on my 9360 and found the phone choppy at best, so I just left my 9900 on 503 since it's good and I don't wanna deal with downgrading OSs.
My question is-- any of you go from 503 to 590 and find 590 better?
