CrackBerry Newbie:TJF54
I feel,as a non-computer,non-techie person,a bit lost on this thread.Provider sent me "Bundle"2406 last nite on 7.0.0.585.I had Bundle 1485-What's it all mean in benefit to me?
The OS has settled and this is the dream OS until 7.1
It is fast, snappy, less memory leak, good battery life, faster browsing.
The only thing I need is NFC media sharing and that is not possible unless I install 7.1 leak right?
On my 3rd 9900, the first two had faulty keyboards and all had horrible battery life (averaging around seven hours) using 353 (all phones made in Hungary). Finally upgraded the latest phone to 590 and on its first run after upgrading the battery life has already surpassed 20 hours, however I did notice it drop from 100% to 90% in the first 40 minutes of use, I still have 20% remaining so think the phone could finally last a full 24 hours but on light use. Until today I would not have recommended the phone but this seems to have made the phone much more responsive, I have noticed none of the bugs I had suffered previously and am thus much happier *sigh of relief*.
On a separate topic the third 9900 is lighter for some reason, I have not weighted it but using five people in a blind test they all agree it is slightly lighter even though it has a memory and SIM card which the other phone does not so should be ever so slightly heavier. Now I need to find accurate scales.
I installed .590 last Thursday, and I'm still using it. Apart from the battery reading bug (not just MeterBerry), I'm getting good battery performance. Of course, when you know that there is a bug in how the device measures the battery level, it's hard to know exactly what's going on, but I've been getting long days of moderate use on a single charge.
The pattern I seem to observe is this. I take it off the charger in the morning. It stays at 100% for about an hour (I don't use my phone much during that time period), then drops to 92%. For the next two or three hours, it declines pretty rapidly, and then much more slowly. When I put it on the charger at night, after 16-18 hours, it usually shows 30-40% left. Of course, I don't know what that really means, but the important thing is that I'm getting enough time to be able to use the phone as I normally used my 9780, without consciously "rationing" myself, without having to charge it during the day.
In the normal course of things, if I have an opportunity to top up the battery during the day, I do it. But sometimes I don't have an opportunity, and it's important to me that I don't have to worry about that.
I hope there will be an update that fixes the battery reading bug, but I can live with that for now.
my keyboard and buttons all dont work at all. This happened last night so today just now I updated it and still doesnt work however the touch screen still works fine. I guess this aint a software issue so then what could be the problem? Like once in a blue moon the keyboard would work for a second. I just got this thing 2 weeks ago X_X would anyone have a solution>?

By any chance, did you not get water damage? if you take the battery out, you would see small square white stickers at the bottom of the battery and on the phone. If these turn red, that indicates water damage.
After testing this release for a couple of days I am back on the .585 .503 hybrid again.
Now my battery last 2 full working days again.
Yes, I agree with you.....I've tried .590, .579 and for me .585/.59x/7.1xxx/.503 Radio hybrid is still the best so far, very fast, stable, and good battery life...
I finally updated my 9900 to .590 and I think the battery still drains very fast. I don't know why some people are saying battery is much better in .590. I don't have bluetooth and wifi turned on, just some Facebook and Twitter and a little BBM and after just 1hr of full charge my battery is now at 75%.
How are you guys getting the .585/.503 radio hybrid to gain a stable battery life? Can you guys provide a little tutorial or a link to a tutorial? Thanks a lot!
