Maybe you timed it right and the rest of the BlackBerry world is now trying to download it

This is the first Voadfone UK update since stock .296 so bound to be popular with those who don't spend their days on Crackberry seeking leaks !!!

I tried too but getting the site maintenance message:
"Our website is currently undergoing a scheduled maintenance to upgrade our systems in order to better serve you"
I've just installed .503 and working fine so i'm not in any rush at the moment

Finally got it downloaded at 21:21 UK time.

Hanging fire on the install as there seems to be some debate as to whether it is any better than .503

Will see how the CrackBerry Nation rate .540 as it settles in.

    No worries Albertoo

I understand what you meant now... slow speeds due maintenance on some EU download sites.

Is this OS worth updating too? Does anyone know if Tesco mobile in the UK every update the OS? I am a tad wary of updating to another network so early (I have had the 9900 for just over a week!)

You can load this build with any carrier painlessly still .Just make sure to delete the two Vendors files

Tesco Mobile aren't supported RIM partners, but O2 are... however they are notoriously slow at releasing OS updates.

.540 is definitely worth trying, it's much less buggy than .296

Yep..to be honest they have the best coverage here by miles! Three UK were always droppimh the BIS ...I have not dropped BIS or a call since moving to Tesco..(and I cancelled my Three UK contact with a year still to go for free!) So I got the Blackberry I wanted a year early!.. Tesco use the 02 Network here....I also get Clubcard points too (triple value) so all good (so far!) I will try and update at the weekend! Thanks for the info,

Thanks I will give that a tray tomorrow.....To be honest everything is working great...the battery drains a wee but fast ...but I have a power lead at work...so it always fully charged when I leave

I would get this on asap. It pretty much doubles your battery life on heavy usage.

I have been testing all OS's as they have appeared and .503 and .540 seem to be the best just now.

A bold statement......I loaded it last night will give it a day or two, but doubling your battery life.

    just installed .540.

quick question. when tapping the search bar, the recent calendar and call (facebook, twitter, etc) activity drops down. correct me if i'm wrong, but this feature previously would scroll with touch, right? with the .540, mine deosn't appear to be scrolling. As in I have a facebook notification, but can't scroll down to tap it within the notification activity screen.

    anybody else?

That is an honest statement. Since I got my phone I have has .296 ,353, .440, .464,
    .503 and now .540.

I was originally getting no more than 8hrs with hard usage. I now get at least a whole
    Day if not more.

I don't have anything special running, usual social feeds, few extra apps.

    This ones a winner.

Glad it wasn't just me, I stopped my backup 3 times to exclude things like that but it jammed
    On the next item anyway.

    Patience is a virtue.

No problems, took a couple of days to settle anyway. Wasn't trying to
Prove anything. Just passing on my experiences.

Upgrading a friends next week as well so should be able to say if its same on his phone.
