I recently won a Q10 from Blackberry via the Keystothecity sweepstakes promotion, but I have not yet activated it. Being a Bold 99930 user for the last 18 months, I feel that the time spent so far with it is not sufficient. As the months went on, (and with the help of the Crackberry community), I soon discovered more tips and shortcuts, speed dialing from the home screen, cut copy & paste, pressing keyboard keys to quickly open applications, and evening using the battery door as an support stand while open. Im thinking about using the Q10 once the 2014 rolls around, new year new device, why not. Apologies in advance if I bored anyone out there, wanted to get this on paper. Questions and comments are always welcome here, thank you.

Hehe, seriously though, if you're a person who's all about productivity, I can see the reluctance to switch to the Q10. My manager had a 9900, got upgraded by the company to the Q10, few days later, saw him with the 9900. Asked him why he went back, said: "I can't deal with all the swiping BS". I totally understand from that point of view because if you're getting multiple of hundreds of emails a day, it could get tiresome on touchscreen device.

Well after much debate and 4 trips to the corporate store I have decided to keep my 9930 and not get the Q10. I tried to get myself around it but after considering everything I need and how I want the phone to operate I decided the combo of 9930 and iPhone 5 I got going on works best for now. I hope Blackberry releases another Q device and somehow can implement a trackpad and dedicated phone buttons and such but sadly I don't see that happening.

I would have made the same choice. 9900 is the better productivity device.

I still adore my 9900 - 13 months old - tethered to my lovely PlayBook and BIS. no plans to switch to a Q10 in the near future.

Can we take into consideration the fact that you got it for free? *blushes*

I had some regrets in trading my 9900 in for the Q10. It took some time getting use to but it has better performance then my 9900.

I didn't get into loading hybrid or leaked OS's which might have made a difference. But I like the Q10 a lot now.

It's all about adaptation. If you dont practice how to use a phone with diff features, of course you'll send it to hell.

In my case I find the Q10 way more comfortable, useful and smoother than the 9900. I've been using it for 24 days. Once you get used to it you wont even think about the trackpad.

You just need to keep your mind opened to new ideas and experiences.

Watching YouTube it plays only in wide screen instead of being able to play in full screen like the 9900 and using the entire screen as it would be nice because it's bigger so the 9900 plays them much better . My 9900 beside my iPhone 4 I really Didn't feel like I was missing anything with the q10 why even bother . I watched an entire movie on the 9900 but you couldn't pay me to on the q10

I loved my 9900 and understand why some people choose to keep it, but have no regrets upgrading to the Q10. This phone rocks!!!

I think Blackberry is a victim of its own success. They engineer great mobile devices so well that BB users find it difficult for them to abandon their phones for upgraded ones, unlike other platform users that switch phones every year.

I am sad to say it, but I want my 9930 back. It is a shame when your old phone can do more than your new phone.

I read so many threads about how everyone loves their 9900/9930 and it always makes me think that BB should have really gone with making what was already there better, instead of coming up with something completely new. They should have put a tweaked and improved BB7 into the Q10, kept the trackball and buttons and gained a whole new audience along with making it's existing customers very happy. I like the look, the design, the whole feel of the Q10 but BB10 is just a mess for me. I've used "new systems" before but this has to be least productive I've ever encountered. My 9930 is the best of all "phone worlds" for me.

Very correct. My initial culture shock was the absence of the side button that I use for "sleep" or to lock the phone quite easily. On discovering that I would have to lose my track-pad as well, I backed out and clung to my old faithful 9900. Swiping could be good but it doesn't make up for all I would lose in 9900. Though I still play with my pals' Q10, am cool with 9900....for now.
