hey guys i've read up that using the Nokia AC-6U charger on the 9900 would lead to having better battery life as it charges the phone slower as compared to the default charger that comes along with the phone. is that true?
yes a lot of people have been saying this. went to a store earlier and checked out what they had. the only one in stock was a Nokia AC-6 but they had no AC-6U in stock.
i'm charging my phone with this charger as i type. anyways, don't matter the battery life, i just need another to stick in the car or in the office. if it gives extra battery life then the better.
did check all the specs - matches those with the oem charger except the mA which is 550 rather than 750
I will use the OEM charger for now. RIM is having a hard time explaining all the issues with their Bold 99xx line up. They are saying that the brick and nuke devices are caused by an OS issue, but a lot of users ran in to troubling while charging the phone overnight.
I will be careful about which charger I use at this point.
i don't think that the reason why the phones getting nuked/bricked are caused by a charger. Like you said its most probably caused by an OS issue and the reason why it supposingly bricked/nuked overnight is because at night is when most of us leave the phone to charge. So yeah. just my 2cents
The decoding issue is likely to be the cause of this. I used a few non-blackberry chargers and everything was fine for me. Even charged it via the USB port on my computer.
hmm. tell me if your battery life has improved after using the new charger.
Anyway what OS(leak/hybrid/official) would recommend i use(I'm using .540)
i don't know if you're replying to me but i'll reply (i'm tired)
i will try to get back to this thread. but then i would need to see for a couple of days then i can give my opinion.
I'm using my old reliable 9700's charger and have no problem at all and battery life is exactly same as my old 9700, also running about 15+ third party apps.
