Does anyone any know if the Bold touch will have the same back leather as previous bolds?

Out of all the hands on vids and pics from Crackberry, BGR, Engadget, I havent seen a single device with a leather battery cover.

Could it be coming out later when the final product os launched? I hope so, I love the feel of the leather back on my Bold.

Yeah, honestly this is the only thing I do not like. The back looks smooth and shiny, that will be a scratch and fingerprint magnet. Body protection or alternate cover will be a must!

You're right. The back won't be leather anymore! Probably glass if I'm not wrong.

Definitely not. The camera module was in the upper-center portion of the 9000, while it's totally different on the 9900.

Solid machined stainless steel frame and carbon fiber back. I got no complaints. Can't wait!

This is so far from the past hour what rim was saying:
* It has a Stainless Steel casing instead of the chrome colored case that RIM has used in the past
* The back case has a glass epoxy back instead of the traditional leather of the Bold line

they may mean fibre-glass. If woven with kevlar or soemthing, it would still give that "3d" sheen that real cf would have, but at a substantially reduced cost.

The carbon fibre battery door looks decent, albeit "faux" and highly prone to smudges/scratches as noticeable in some of the recently displayed pics. As for the rest of the backside, that is, the matte plastic that runs around it and the lack of any substantial "chrome" - both are a big let down in my opinion. I am still hoping that, in this regard, what's being shown at BBWC is not nearly the final product.

Yeah....I liked the look of the faux leather. I am sure we'll see some soon!
