This is the first update I've installed directly from the phone. I figured that would be the quickest way, but boy was I mistaken. That took forever. Anyway, it seems to be smoother and battery life is great thus far. Waiting for an installer so I can hybrid this puppy.

There's actually a full installer available from swdownloads.blackberry.com. Is that the link we're looking for, or does someone need to upload it to a download site?

Installed the update via Desktop Manager (DM). Appeared to have gone well. Backed up via Protect, via DM, and then by the update itself.

After the Software Update, there are updates for Application Resource Manager and BlackBerry ID (BBID). FYI: The BBID update didn't clear from the notifications, I ran it again, it hung on "installing", so I restarted and everything was fine.

Has any Verizon Wireless user tested this specifically with Skype? I know the last update had major issues working with Skype, where it would not sign in at all. I'm still on 7.1.0.755 for this exact reason. As VZW users, we're among the few blessed ones who get to use Skype on a BlackBerry with BBOS, so I like to keep it working. If this update works with it, I'm interested in upgrading.
