Can anyone tell me if the AT&T 9900 has a manual network selction when roaming? I have an unlocked 9900 (vendor id 416) which does not have a manual selection option.

I have yet to travel with my 9900. But if it's like my 9700 was, it will show up unless you roam in Mexico.

You only have manual selection when roaming in another country.

Yes, my 9700 offers manual selection when traveling internationally and roaming, but specifically, can anyone with an AT&T 9900 confirm this? I am considering switching to an AT&T branded 9900. The one I am using now (vedor id 416) does not have a manual network selection, only automatic. While in Thailand, it's locking onto TRUE network quite often, and for whatever reason, BIS is often working. With my 9700, and 9800, automatic network selection would use TH-GSM and DTAC and thier was no issue. I believe there's a hardwired issue with the vendor id 416 BB 9900 here in Thailand. I'm trying to confirm if the AT&T 9900 has manual network selction when internationally roaming.

    TH-GSM using 900MHz for UMTS
DTAC & TRUE using 850 MHz for UMTS.

So depending on your bb9900 version and whether your carrier has any roaming agreement with the network overseas.

    Hope that helps.

No. ATT would never give you that control. There may be a version that does though.

Why do you say they would never give you that control? I had this option on my AT&T 9700 and 9800 while traveling overseas. I'm just trying to confirm it exists with the 9900.

My 9000, 9800, and 9900 do not allow network selection even when both home and a foreign network are both available. That is on the US/Mexico border. Maybe unlocking or something else helps here. Was you 9800 unlocked? What, exactly, did you do to select a network?

The 9700 and 9800 were locked branded AT&T phones. When travel outside North America (Europe, and Asia) in mobile network connections (mobile network) there is an option for automatic or manual selection. I'm just trying to confirm its the same for an AT&T 9900.
