My memory leak can reach up to 40MB per day and I am sick. I need to reboot this everyday. Could you recommend anything that can reduce my memory leak.
I am on the latest .267 OS(7.1)
Thanks

ahhh you beat me to the punch! :p ive also experienced this with .267........ive went from 138MB down to 51MB! The weird thing is unlike with any past experiences with memory leaks and all of the berries i had in the past my phone doesnt slow down at all
With 7.0.0.540 I could make it through 3 days at least. I miss those days... LoL
You could try looking or posting in this thread:

I have not seen this memory drop on my 9930, but others have on the 9900/9930. I also do not experience any serious battery drain to be concerned about either though. Mine is loaded with tons of apps and several GBs of files, pics and music on my SD card as well.
I see a bit of drop - like 20-30 each day.....
Are you using Beweather by any chance? Was talking to a few guys that had the same problem, and we appear to have narrowed it down to Beweather and .267
Is 147 MB good? What's the 9930 supposed to be idle at? I have Facebook, beweather, and like one other app. Is 147 normal? Or am I missing out on memory?
I am minus 60mb after 20 hours since the battery pull.
In an 18 hour day, I drop about 60-70MB.
I reboot every morning right before I get up for the day. I also reboot during the day as well. I find that my phone starts throwing the spinning clock at around 140MB.
Yes, I use BeWeather and I change icon sets several times a day.
A drop between 30-60MB per day for me is not a memory leak, but rather just a standard OS expansion. There are may apps like MeterBerry, QuickLaunch, etc, etc that have integrated auto reboot function. I use the QL's auto reboot function set to 4:30 AM in the morning. The phone reboots everyday at that time and when I weak up at 5:30 AM, its good to go. If you are not lazy like me, you can actually do a reboot by yourself by pressing ALT+shift(right)+del.
Personally, I look at this kind of low memory drop as a normal thing on a BlackBerry running Java based OS.
I am using beweather as a matter of fact.
Are scheduled reboots from meterberry as good as old skool battery pulls? Do they gain the lost memory? Do they speed up the phone (I mean back to its normal speed)?
If you have the new BeWeather, that's what it is. Guaranteed. It would be helpful if you were to contact them. The more the hear, the sooner we might see a fix.
If you want to test it out, try deleting Beweather for a while. You'll probably find that the leak will be nowhere near as bad (some leakage is normal on BBOS).
It's BBM.
I never normally drop more than 1MB over a week without BBM installed, on any OS.
Installed BBM a couple of weeks ago and was immediately dropping 20+MB per day.
Uninstalled it and now I'm back to -1MB/week again.
Go figure...
Where can I check if memory leaks?
Thanks.
ahh same @ ql auto reboot - mine set at 4am 8) if you have whatsapp deffoo a memory leak!! i use bw too
I'm at 204MB and it hardly drops at all.
I've never seen any memory leaks more than 5mb before on .267. and that was a one time deal only. it pretty much stays constant for me give or take a few hundred kilobytes. perhaps its apps related?

I've had memory leaks with every version of OS6 I ever ran on my 9650 and its no different with OS7. But I don't mind, I want my apps and well...I will put up with it. :(
It is good for recovering memory. But if you want to fix an issue, the scheduled reboots are soft reboots. So, it may not fix any issues with the phone. Yes, it does recover memory.
Battery EX does a good job too.
That could be the case... I use BBM pretty heavily
Me too. So like I said, we have to live with it...as I won't live without my BBM!:D
