I keep swapping my SD cards from one device to another and playing the same songs and it just sounds louder on the 9780 than it does on my new 9930. Plus, i turned the volume all the way up. Strange!

Not sure about the 9780, but its definitely louder AND much more crisp than the speaker on my old 9650.

Yeah my 9700 definitely sounds louder than my 9900. My 9900 speakerphone is terrible and difficult to hear.

Wish it was the good old days with the Bold 9000 super amazing speaker system.

No the speaker is not louder on the 9780, it seems as if the music volume is capped/limited in the music player. Just play the same song as a ringtone from the options menu to test it out and you'll see how loud it is. We've been discussing this but it hasn't been solved yet. Hopefully it does soon.

Are you guys making sure to turn on audio boost with the 9900? Go the the options menu in your music player and check Audio Boost. Then compare.

i don't know about music but ringtones are WAYY louder on the 9900 than on both my old 9800/9700.. i have my ringtones volume set to 3 VS 6 that i had on my 9800/9700

Mine is not as loud. And I have now tried running the speaker test and it does not work at all! Going to create a thread.
