Manually installing the Mobile Hotspot feature?

Quick question,

Is there a generic service book out there that I can manually install so I can have the Mobile Hotspot feature activated on my Bold 9900?

I remember manually installing service books on my Bold 9000 to unlock certain features, such as unlocking the download size limitations on the old BIS configuration.

Or is the Mobile Hotspot a feature where you can't manually override the APN settings therefore making a generic one impossible to use?

It's baked into the OS and being controlled by service books. I haven't seen anyone around who can manually push the proper service books to their devices yet.

Nope, your carrier has it controlled. You could try an older COD file from 7.1.0.74
