Is the gold battery that works the GOLD 2430MAH J-M1 HIGH CAPACITY BATTERY? Since I upgraded to .861, my gold battery can't be recognized.

That depends on what your current OS is.

I was on .912 but I downgraded to .861 because I found it better. If this OS is similar to .912, I will just stay with .861.

.714 is also a good OS. As some posters confirm, there is no BB Device Analyzer on this OS. But there is a work around as posted above. If you don't mind doing a little more work, go ahead and update then install the other functionalities that are missing. Update BBM also as this OS seems to have the older version of BBM. Pls refer to another post above regarding this. in case you are not aware, BBM already has voice chat feature.

    hey guys,
I upgraded my 9900 to this OS from .912 almost 24 hours ago. So far so good. battery life is good. I've been on the same charge since last night.Device is responsive and quick. No lag or slow downs.

It didnt fix the 2 issues I was having with Bluetooth. 1 was my 9900 freezing when using BBM Over bridge and the other one was bluetooth had a mind of own its by disconnecting and reconnecting to my car bluetooth. Used bluetooth to stream Slack Radio whenever I was in the car and it worked great.

Will keep an eye further on it to see how it goes.

    Cheers

Gold batteries give you extra 'juice' so to speak

They need to be 'cloned' for your BlackBerry to be able to read it and all that fun stuff,. I just carry an extra OEM charged battery at all times!

As far as the OS goes, I'll wait for BerryLicio.us to give me a hybrid mix of 7.1.0.923

    EDIT

Just got my hands on the 923 hybrid!!!

All in all it is fast. The usage is fast and the boot time as well. But I will know more after a week or so.

After 2 days of usage it seems to be not a good OS.
It is fast and the memory leaking is slow but it drains battery so fast and the Mobile Hotspot is not working...
I'll downgrade it in this afternoon.

Which OS do you prefer to change this one?
    .861 or .862 or .912?

    No problem here.
    Battery holding quite good.
Mobile HotSpot is working... Your problem might be caused by your service provider blocking this feature...

No need to change for me, unless the memory leak starts after few weeks of usage, as it happened with .861
