Close DM. Disconnect network connection. Open DM and try again.
After a few days I was getting 3-4% discharge while idle, much worse than .440 for me.
Decided to delete some apps to see if one of them might have been causing the battery issue. As soon as I got rid of WiFi Manager (free off App World) my idle rate dropped to average at 1.1%.
Am pretty happy with that!
I am finding my batter discharge rate is a lot worse.
Getting about 10% to 13% on idle.
Not been using it much so its a bit wierd. Will continue to monitor over the next few days

first day on full charge...
at 87% .. been using it for about 3.5 hours..
downloaded vlingo and was playing around with it for a bit, downloaded wikitude update, downloaded a beta app. setting up my nfc launcher again cause i forgot to back it up before the new OS.
rebooted for the apps above 3 times..
emails, bbm, sms (very mild use)
a quick 1min phone call..
discharge rate is 5.1%
This feels more stable than .440 and my BIS dropping in H+ seems to have disappeared.
Seems smooth to me, battery life seems about the same
+1 exactly and also posts with " downloading or installing now"
After 14 hours of moderate usage i still have 40%,it s ok this build.
Just took the plunge and upgraded. Can't help but have the latest version.
Seems snappy and all the rest of it... Shall see how it goes
Woke up, used Blackberry, ate some breakfast, had lots of fibre in my cereal and got an AMAZING discharge rate..... :D
Sorry I couldnt resist...

2 days report
My usage: EDGE, a few hours on wifi surfing web (cb, kijiji) twitter, facebook. Lots of bbm and average texting.
0.0% discharged rate for 7 hours until I woke up. Another 10hour of usage and I'm sitting at 60% pretty good. I will update again on day 4.

Well Phil, what I do if I "create" a new SMS is "dial" then type the name and that goes to the text field. But usually I already have SMS history there.

I just upgraded this morning and when I create a new SMS, I only see one recipient field now. On .440 there were two.
Odd.
As soon as you fill in that first recipient field, a second one appears... and it stays there.
Just like every other OS7 build, but unlike OS6 where the second field disappears when you scroll down over it.
I'd like to see it how it was on OS6. Much cleaner.

How can I download this on a macbook and then get it on to my BB?
Someone help please, thanks.
Ahhh yes. I see it now. Meh. Oh well.
For me it's great so far. Batt, speed, stability..... all improved from 440, 261. (my past OSs).
My track pad felt a little unresponsive so I bumped sensitivity to 80/80 from the default 70/70. it felt a little TOO fast at 80 but I got used to it. other than that it's a-o-k

So I just upgraded to the 9900 on T-Mobile and I have yet to upgrade. I'm still on 7.0.0.250.. Which is pretty ancient from what I can see. The battery life I'm experiencing is pretty horrendous compared to my previous 9780, which isn't too surprising to me. But for the sake of battery life, can anyone solidly tell me by upgrading to this OS, my battery life will improve?

Definitely. :)

Last thing! By upgrading, would the difference be minimal or drastic like night& day?

I understand what you mean. The 9780 is hard to beat in battery. But as far as if you will notice a difference in battery, I think the answer is YES.
Friends of mine with the 9900 are raving about 440/474.
I'm on a 9930 and the highest build available is 374 official from Verizon. It's battery is NOTICEABLY better than what the phone came with stock. (261 I believe it was?)
So I would recommend you update. Report back your findings if you have time. Also, I'm sure you know already but give it a day or two to settle before making a final judgement on it. I've noticed it takes days to settle in and you might even experience that with your 9900 on the build you're currently on now.
Can't download, Keeps disconnecting me halfway, Any kind soul wanna mirror it up somewhere ? Thanks !
try these from supraking. btw does anyone shrink the OS anymore for 9900/9930 devices?
Thanks so much !
My first OS update on 9900.
Here is how it went:
1. Downloaded OS file from FileServe.
2. Took a full backup using DM
3. Installed OS to PC
4. Used BB Boss and did a moderate shrink
5. Continued by Loader.exe and installed OS
Initial impressions:
1. Snappier and feels faster
2. Sticks to 3G better
3. Appworld seems to be a bit slower
4. Got "Error 507" twice since morning
Now, done reloading OS again.
;)
