I'm guessing this will be the same as the leaked with the Mic Issue on the 9900 with AT&T but we'll see but Great to see that it went official.

How is the media player on this? The media player on this 391/355 hybrid I am using is awful; I pause a song and when I resume it, it begins playing the next song. Also, sometimes when I pause a song and resume it, it's a lot louder.

Are these issues gone in 580 or 649?

I had a ton of issues with media playback before updating to the .580. Since I updated and did 3-4 battery pulls to let the OS settle in, media playback has been about as flawless as I've ever seen.

If you're a fan of putting your phone in bedside mode and multitasking while still in bedside mode, that doesn't work, but it's otherwise the best version I've ever used.

Anyone know if this .649 update addresses my bedside mode concerns?

Sorry for the double post, but I reply as I see them.

.580 does not fix this multiple sender issue. Just some background info to weigh if you're trying to decide which higher version to jump up to.

I miss the days when a new OS would bring 50 posts the first day.

How's the battery use on this one?

There, now I feel better. :-)

I've been using this OS on my 9900 since it was leaked a couple of weeks ago. Seems to be the best one yet. No problems at all. Battery drain is minimal at around 2.2%/hour with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi always on and bridged to my PlayBook most of the time.

But to be honest, the last OS before this one was the same... I think these a just small bug fix updates as 7.1 is pretty mature now.

Thanks. Any feedback on the music player bugs, or occasional periods of unusually high battery drain on 3G? How about direct sunlight on the touch screen?

Been using it for a couple of weeks. Had issues updating the OS, but since it has been ok. No dramatic improvements that I can think of.

I think most are happy with .580 so far, like me. I haven’t jumped to this yet because I haven’t seen ooh’s and ahh’s. But that is probably becuase no one has loaded it or provided feedback yet.

i just upgraded from .580 to .649 today. Shortly after the upgrade, i had a weird issue with the music player. I had listened to one album, and then i began listening to a second album. midway thru, the volume slowly faded down to zero....then after about 10 seconds, the volume came back up to where it was...the song did not stop playing. Then a few songs later, the volume increased to the max. I then tried to turn it down using the volume rocker buttons, and it would automatically increase back to max. i stopped the song, unplugged my headphones, and then tried to adjust the volume, and this time it stayed at the right level. i listened for another hour or so without issue. Never had that happen before. Not sure if this was coincidence, but i will see if it happens again with .649. Anybody else have issues with music player in this version?

I'm somewhat sketchy about anything that comes out of China. That would be a government controlled release I'm thinking they were saying turn that music off

Unhide everything and look in all the folders. If still not there you will need to hook up to desktop manager and select it in the apps list and install.

Anyone know if cell broadcast is back in this OS build. It's missing in .580 and was wondering if it was back.

After several agonizing hours I realized that (as a user with five blackberry devices - three playbooks, two phones) that I must uninstall the desktop software and delete all user profiles before attempting to upgrade.. then do the executable, and delete vendor.xml... what a pain, but it works..

I downloaded this about a week ago. I am having an issue with the phone shutting off and rebooting when using the camera. At first, it would only happen if the flash was on. Now it happens if the camera turns on period.

Anyone else having a similar issue?

I am running the leaked version of this OS and on that version, you aren't able to add/edit/delete words in word substitution..

Are you able to add/edit/delete words in word substitution in this official OS?
