    Hello,
I just received my Bold 9900 from AT&T. It came loaded with 7.0 Bundle 2392 (v7.0.0.576, Platform 5.0.0.733)

Should I update to the latest and greatest firmware?
If yes, what version? and do I need to wipe out the phone before upgrading?

    Thanks

It's your choice. You can also play a little bit on the preloaded OS first. Or just downloaded the latest leaked or the official one.
You won't need to wipe it, but i will do it for an clean install. Just to be safe.

I'd update to 7.1.0.284 or 7.1.0.342. OS 7.0 has the issue where the phone can stop charging until you reboot (doesn't happen to everyone but it exists).

Is there an updated firmware version for AT&T (official) BB Bold 9900?
I searched but didn't find any. I did a firmware update check on RIM's website, but they couldn't find one either.
I saw 7.1.0.284 on the OS page of CB, but that is for T-Mobile. I am with AT&T

it'll still work, you just need to delete the vendor.xml files

I would use it as is out of the box for a few days, then maybe update the OS if you want.

I recommend 7.1.0.342. It can be loaded onto any 9900, regardless of who your carrier is (you just have to delete the vendor.xml file). I have tmobile and load leaked OS onto my 9900 whenever a new one comes out. The stock OS on tmobile offered me really terrible battery life. You'll see a lot of people complaining about that on here (CrackBerry is where people come to complain, I think most satisfied users probably don't seek help online, therefore, the complaints seem more rampant than compliments on the 9900). I think at&t is usually pretty slow at approving and releasing OS updates. Tmobile isn't much better, that's why you'll find that coming on here and reading the "findings and fixes" people post about a new, leaked, OS are really helpful.
