    Hi there,

Reports from India indicate that new JS1 (1450mah) battery from 9220/9230 is the same size and pin as for 9900/9930?

Please can anyone confirm if JS1 will fit in 9900/9930?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

If the new JS1 (1450mah) battery from new 9220/9230 phones fits the 9900/9930, we are back to around the same power as MS1 (1500mah) which wad used in the 9700/9780

    MS1 9700/9780 = 1500mah

    JM1 9900/9930 = 1230mah

    JS1 9200/9230 = 1450mah

Is there anyone in India who can confirm that the new JS1 battery will work in 9900/9930?

    Thanks

Have you ever tried using a battery not made specifically for your berry?

Tried putting a dx-1 in a ms-1 phone and got the battery screen.

No I have never tried on BlackBerry, only on Nokia phones. I was kind of hoping that new JS1 would be the new upgrade that BlackBerry have been rumored to be releasing soon for JM1?

    It depends on:

    1) Battery size (does it looks like identically to the JM1?)

    2) Voltage output etc stuffs (identical to JM1?)

There must be someone who has access to both devices who can try this. I'm really curious.

What are you saying they are the same battery? I don't understand your comparison between the JS1 and the JM1 when one is rated 1250 and the other is rated 1450. Help me out here?

It looks like the actually ppiece that connects the battery to the phone is shaped slightly different on the JS1 as opposed to the JM1, so it likely won't fit.

We tried and it will fit yes (with a little force).

The problem is 9900 will not accept the battery in software that is different when it does the startup security check. You will get an icon on the screen that shows the battery and an X.

Would be great to get the extra juice though.

So if it will fit and this is a 1450mAh battery, why the h3ll didn't RIM use this size in the first place?

If the battery fits, can it be cloned like the Chinese batteries with a decoder, at least this is a genuine battery?

It does fit (needs to be pushed a little though), I believe the NFC contacts do no reach though but you can close the back door.

Regardless if NFC working, will the phone pass security and boot, or do you get the X sign?

If the phone passes the X test, please confirm model and software version?
