I take it that 6/30 is the expected release date, given this guy has an ability to pull this stuff early on before the expected release date (i.e., inside knowledge).

Yes, but I believe this is his "general" shipping terms, and the expected shipping between 5/11 & 5/17 does fall into "up to 30 days. I am not siding him but he has a good rating. $500 restocking fee is steep but the timing is of essence for this particular deal (for those super impatient :-), and as the time passes by and approaches the actual availability, he loses the command of this seep price. I am not as impatient as to pay USD975, but I am more interested in June 30 date.

Whether the guy is legit or not, similar info (pre-release models etc) start popping up here and there, which might indicate that RIM is now ready to release the model soon. This may be a sign of something. How soon? I certainly hope it would be by the end of June as the ad implies.
