For those that haven't tried the latest leaked os 7.1.0.267...you need to. I was happy enough with battery life on the official .163 release, but the newest is ridiculous. I have had my phone off the charger for over two hours sending probably 20 text and had two 10 min conversations as well as did some surfing and checked several emails and I'm still showing 90%. Maybe I'm just happy because I came from android, but less than 5%/hr battery life on moderate usage is pretty impressive. Analyzer is actually showing 2.71% which I think is damn good. Anyway, that is my push for the new leak...good luck!

I wanted to get the os 7.1 update on my phone but I try to do that today and it messed up my whole phone I had to reinstall the official os on my phone and restore everything I dunno if I did something wrong cause I tried to follow every instruction but that didn't work so I'm just gonna wait till my carrier get the update.. No use fixing something that was never broken.. Don't wanna mess up my phone ever again

So, is this upgrade definitely better than .205? If so, I need to download and install this on my 9900, tonight.

Hmm, i don't notice that much difference between this one and 0.585, but I just installed it yesterday, think it maybe needs to get use to my device

And I'm happy it doesn't suddenly go from 100 to 92%.
Love the OS, those little visual things they added are nice too, for example when you want to activate wifi, NFC etc. you can see a circle moving now. Just those little things makes a device awesome

I've been on .247 since Sunday and battery life is excellent. I rarely get past 2.5% ADR no matter what I'm doing. I have Batter Saver always on. This is a great release.

If the change in battery life is dramatic, you last OS load was suffering bit rot or never loaded properly. Or you changed a setting or fixed a crappy app. Something changed and it wasn't the OS being significantly better at sipping the battery.

If you are on the 9930 now it would help us to help you if you updated your device information

Why not? The OS controls many things. For example, it controls how often the phone looks for 3G/4G if it has dropped down to 2G. I assume it controls other background tasks that could have an effect on battery life as well. I don't know if the OS version does have a great impact on these things, but I don't see why it couldn't.

I installed 267 on Tuesday over 74. My 74 OS had better battery life. I went to 267 only because 74 wouldn't bridge to my Playbook using the latest BB Bridge drop. That being said, my BB Bold has been unplugged since 0430 this morning and has 65% left in the battery. I have not made a single phone call nor have I used the browser or emailed & text more than a couple times.

Sadly, I can remember 7 years ago when my Blackberry could go days without charging, but those were such simple times

Quick question, should I have just backed up my contacts, memopad, and calendar ONLY, not back up apps and get them after?

My battery is sporadic, at times I'll get 5% other times up to 11% if not more. Can someone suggest what I should do? I use my phone moderately, music in the morning on the way to work for roughly an hour, and then just a few bbm msgs through out the day during break and lunch.

I was on 7.0.474 and battery life was pretty good on it as well. I installed using DM, didn't wipe or anything, just upgraded with DM and restored. Nothing different as far as apps or settings so it must be OS.
