So I just got the 9900 today and I am driven up the wall by it already.

I had set the input language to Deutsch, yet the keyboard still has the QWERTY layout instead of the German QWERTZ layout.

This is extremely STUPID since my Torch 9800 had no problem changing my keyboard layout to QWERTZ (on both the physical and virtual kb) when I had German as my input language.

I'm not asking the QWERTY physical keyboard to change. I'm saying that I want it to type in Z when I click the physical Y.

Is there some way around this? I know it can't be a hardware problem if the Torch did it fine before.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I love the device... but it really puts a damper on my typing when I keep getting the Y and Z wrong!

That might help, since there are some procedures..

I actually tried that yesterday and it failed. I believe I commented on the thread too.

A sneaking suspicion, that it would have to be the firmware on the phone. My friend was suggesting to remove it completely and load it with a firmware from a German 9900. My default is English firmware as it was bought in Canada, so even if I deleted the german language cod files, the replacement will still be for the English firmware. But hey, I'm no expert.
