I bought a new blackberry 9930 a few weeks ago and I love it, but a troubling problem has arisen for the past few days. After I unplug my phone from its completely charged state, the battery shows that it is low within a couple hours. After that, the phone will continue to operate with the battery level stuck on 1% for the rest of the day and more. Obviously the indicator is showing ridiculous figures. After I do a battery pull when the phone is incorrectly reading low battery, the meter goes back up to what I believe to be the true status of the battery, then it proceeds to become incorrect again within minutes.

It's very frustrating and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions before I return the phone.

It might be your OS you have on the phone. Have you changed it recently?

It came with 7.0.x and I hadn't updated it when the problem started last week. Now I've updated it to 7.1 and it still is doing it

Sounds like the internals are damaged, such as the battery connectors. I ran across a unit with a damaged part near the battery internals and it did the same thing. I would ask for a replacement ASAP as changing OS's wont solve it most likely.

It is the same case as happens to Z10 in general (usually STL-100-1), not OS fault, I guess, because several times I upgrade to the newest leaked/official OS, it still happened

I need help. I have a 3 year old bold 9930 that was working fine, holding a charge for almost two days. For some reason now after being fully charged, after about 8 hours it goes to the red low battery level, then it says battery too low to use radio. But, it's a false indicator. If I plug in the charger for 30 seconds and unplug it, it goes back to the 3/4 charge and is fine. Also, if i pull the battery it will go back to the 3/4 charge and is fine. I got a new battery and it still does it. The guy at Verizon told me to try cleaning the charge port, but that's not doing anything. It has the most recent operating system and tells me it's up to date when I go to update. Is this thing toast or is there another solution? Thanks
