sales tax is computed based on msrp, atleast here in cali...thats why i buy from amazon wireless usually to avoid that
wow Cali blows. Sales tax is called a sales tax because it's based on the transaction price!

I find the Send, Menu, Escape and End/Power keys to be too soft in comparison with the trackpad and keyboard keys --particularly the Menu key which is beginning to become squeaky. What has been your experience?

    Ok, Ill try again.

Has anyone noticed the USB charge port as being loose?

Also, is anyone going to try "Wind Moble .474"?

I got it this morning. There was no one else there early. I really like it but I have not had much time to really play with it. I have a 9810 too. Screen is great" key board is to die for and it seems very snappy with the .440 os. My only problem is that when I drove by the stadium where the Buffalo Bills play my data crawled and I couldn't get web sites to work. I was disappointed because it was only 11 am and the AT&T network was crushing with the dense population of people. I also go to edge or get no signal at the grocery store that I shop at and I never did that with the 9810. My office will be the true test and I think I will try a Verizon bold too to see which one has better connections.

Picked up mine today. Was on the verge of breaking my 9800 into two pieces - seemed to be extremely slow recently with a bunch of hourglassing!

The 9900 is pure bliss. Well worth the wait. I considered going to Verizon instead of waiting it out but enjoy the simultaneous voice and data.

Walking out of the store I noticed the 4G icon. Was expecting the H+ but this little guy looks good (even though it isn't true 4G!). I have noticed an improvement in my area over 3G, however. Apps seem to download much faster and web pages are lightning fast - this of course is probably mainly due to the processor.

I haven't had any problems with apps, all of them that I use seem to be supported (e.g., Beweather, Pandora, etc.).

Build quality is superb. It's a huge improvement over my 9800 and reminds me more of the 9700. The keyboard is better, as everyone's said, than the 9000 - somehow!? It has the right amount of mushy-ness and click but not as firm as the 9700. Screen is bright and sharp. It's also much smaller than I expected!

Overall impression of the phone: It is what I have wanted in a Blackberry ever since I got my hands on the 9000. Always had those "if they could only make that a touch screen" thoughts when using the 9000. Of course, the screen is a little "small" for proper web surfing but interacting with the menus and apps is much more intuitive.

Yes, the 9900 still hourglasses (it's a Blackberry! ) but you are still able to use your phone when it does! I've been able to send text messages while downloading/installing an app, with only a few slow downs - something unheard of on the 9800.

For those of you still considering whether or not you'll pick it up: I've been a longtime user/fan of Blackberry for its ability to accomplish phone, email, and messaging like a champ. That said, I was recently considering jumping ship to try out Android or WinMo in the interim of ATT announcing the 9900's release. I even spent a good amount of time playing with an SGII and various WinMo phones today but just didn't think I'd be happy typing email on glass or having to open my "phone app" to call someone. Blackberrys are still great communication devices and that's what I decided I used most. All that said, I do own a Playbook for games and such.

    Only disappointments thus far:
-No NFC (it's just the principle of it / can feel this being a fee later on)
-Inability within OS7 to scroll/highlighting text within the input bar (as someone mentioned earlier) - really used this a lot in OS6
-Can see the battery being a problem - When's the extra one going on sale CrackBerry!?
-Give us back our Left side convenience key!!

As for the Wind .474, I'm sticking with .440 for now. Really don't want to go through the hassle of reloading all my apps, again! Just want to enjoy it for now!

Also, I picked up the "BlackBerry Soft Shell" case. They didn't have the Hard Shell in stock and I ended up really liking the soft version. For those interested, it isn't anything like the rubber cases of previous years. It's a mix between rubber and plastic that feels great and slips in your pocket easily. The hard shell just seems slightly more rigid and to have a pattern on the back.

Is anyone going to let their 9900 go commando and use the OEM charging pod?

The hard shell has a hard plastic tub for the phone to sit in. The sides are a softish rubber that is flexible and allows you to slip it on. It looks great, but, its a fingerprint magnet and it has no resistance to impact. The sides are the only place where it has any give. Kinda slippery in the hand as well. I think maybe I wanna try the soft shell or the "Vibes" by iSkin Premium Accessories for iPad iPhone iPod BlackBerry Mac PC.

I'd really like to but I feel this is going to by my BlackBerry for a while (since the first wave of BBX phones will be all touch) and I don't want to drop it. I'm sure in a month or so I'll take the case off and start treating it like a phone again, but for now it's too new

Definitely no fingerprints on the soft shell but a little slippery. It has a matte finish on the back and a shiny finish on the side that doesn't seem to collect much. I'll probably pickup the Convert case by Seidio just because it has two cases in one. Otterbox is a little too much for my everyday.

Oh i see thanks. I remember last time getting 9700 through Premier i got discounted price, i think they don't charge me activation and free overnight ship.

So you got it from at&t store through premier act ? sorry if it looks stupid question, that's because i never bought in the past from the store, it was done always over the phone.

Quick question ... I should know this answer, but ...

If I use my phone upgrade to get a 9900, will it be free through ATT, as long as I recommit to my 2 year contact? Yes I am eligible for one.
