Sounds like it is busted. I would not have bought a phone if it was in that state. Hope you can find a way to fix it!

thanks bro for the link...........but none of those steps seem to solve the problem and im not the only one bro plenty of people have this problem and they cannot solve it.....these new blackberries like 9930 and 9900 seems to have problems that nobody is able to solve yet.......
thanks bro...but what it seems to be like a good deal turned into a nightmare to me
somebody is saying that he could fix it for $60 if he gets it fixed im going to get on his *** so that way he tells me how he got it fixed and i will share that info with you guys......wish me luck
Just a hunch but I would start with the battery. For some reason people love to take the friggin batteries out even though I have never once encountered a reason to do so. Someone dumb enough to brick a phone might also be dumb enough to have put a meter on the battery contacts or accidentally make a connection between 2 of the contacts. When that happens and you don't know what you are doing, it may still hold a charge but the logic chip or whatever you call it will be toast and when you fry the chip its done for good. It also matches up with the guy who wants 60 balloons to repair one. What does a replacement cost?
Just a theory.
Maybe the guy who sold it to you could have the phone and or the battery replaced.
Good Luck
