Yea, I just don't get it myself. The prolonging of it all. Goes through the FCC, Kevin see first hand 1000's in production and finished, os 7 seems to be optimized, so I really seeing rim did their thing. I'm thinking the carriers are playing a game now. Everyone, addicts and non-addicts alike are waiting for this device. Just release it I say, sales will be good IMO.but who am I? I didn't go to school or have any sales experience on something like this...

You know your thought about the carriers, made me wonder if the they have to get rid of a certain percentage of old stock (all the Bolds, Curves etc) before they can bring in new stuff (Bold Touch for instance) to sell to us. Is this plausible?
    Anyone in sales have ideas?

I think your right JQ, it's like dangling the carrot. Or better yet, pulling the sling shot back further and further. When this thing pops all **** will break loose. I think it would be a great time to buy RIM stock before it does.

Think about it. RIM sells 1m 9780 handsets to a few carriers. They still have 500,000 handsets on the shelves. Will RIM take them back? No. RIM now want them to sell the 9900 (or whatever comes next). What would you do? Try and sell the 500k of phones quick.....

Yeah, I'm starting to think the same. It's not the carriers, or phone not being ready, or this, or that, it's the fact that they have a ton of phones on shelves already and can't just throw them away. Even if they start giving them away for free on contracts, not many people will buy them. I'm thinking that RIM is waiting to sell some of these phones before they start releasing the new ones.

One of our biggest carriers here has released a new plan (Vodafone Australia). For $39 a month you get $500 worth of calls, unlimited text, unlimited email + 1.5 gb of data PLUS a free 9780. I think this is called. "clearance" sale.
