I can get the 9900 in November! YAY!

OK, so I saw a deactivated line on my mom's account (set aside mom jokes; I'm in grad school!). I re-activated it and can get the 9900 in November!

That means my 9700 (AT&T) can be sold! Whee!

That is, if ATT launches the 9900 before then...

I can upgrade to any phone right now if I wanted.

Are you implying that AT&T wishes to launch the 9900 before November? I thought that rumour was squashed.

No, I'm just wondering if they're going to launch it in November... I'm confused as to why they haven't yet...

No one knows why. They like the Torch more. It seems that the higher-ups liked the Torch more than the 9900, and people seem to like the idea of a touch-screen and a keyboard. It's more similar to Android and iPhones.

Yeah, my buddy got tired of waiting for the 9900 to drop on ATT and got the 9810 the other day. Seems to be quite happy with it. Hopefully they launch the 9900 soon.

I had the 9810. Excellent HSPA+ speeds, but the Torch keyboard was terribad for me. Definitely not for me. I'm used to touch-typing on the 9000/9700. Torch keyboard hurts my thumbs.

Well get ready for keyboard heaven. The 9900 keyboard is a thing of beauty. You won't be disappointed.

"YAY!" and "Whee?" You're in grad school? Or did you mean grade school?

I'm excited. How about this, "I'm pleasantly thrilled to have received splendid news from AT&T!"

No, thank you. I want to be a fun adult. :P

At any rate, I was surprised that at the mention of the 9900, the phone rep a) had no clue about the 9900 and b) tried to push me to the iPhone 5 that is "released tomorrow."

Not a big shock... I spoke with a ATT Rep the other weekend, and I asked her about the 9900 and when it may be released. She said "Well we've got the 9810."

Reps are, for the most part, clueless when it comes to new devices. And the rep saying the I5 is released tomorrow? How about announced?

I'm aware of this. I just thought it was funny. I'm considering calling to see how many reps push the iPhone.

They are pushing the Torch because they partnered with RIM to create it! It's an AT&T exclusivity in the US, and they spent many years working with RIM developing it.

They are going to get what they can out of it before offering other RIM devices...

I see. Another possibility. Well, at least AT&T will release the 9900 in November. Thank goodness.
