I know I am creating a new thread but I am totally shocked at the difference this has made (sorry if it has been noted before).
I used to have bedside mode whenever charging (based on a schedule) so every time I plugged my BB in, the clock would come up.
Usually I would dismiss it with no issues. I have over the past few months noticed some massive battery drain (changing batteries around noon) and was reach to chuck this device out the window.
I noticed that Clock took up a massive amount of CPU usage for some reason. I disabled it, so nothing happens when it charges and I am easily getting 25%-30% better battery life. This phone still cannot survive a single day with me, but it is significantly better than when I had clock enabled.
Are you posting about the 9700 (in your profile) or the 9900 (this forum)? I use bedside mode on my 9930 and do not have battery issues, so I'm not entirely sure you have uncovered anything helpful.

Perhaps, but even in my application usage statistics, Clock took up about 13% of the daily usage...
Are you closing the clock app after you are done with bedside mode? Sometimes the clock app will run in the background. Hold the menu button down and see if its running when you have battery issues.
