Last born, left arm, right testicle, and some money to boot.
Don't care what is costs (altho I am due for an upgrade). If it does what it is supposed to do, and does it well, then this is my ideal device. My 9700 does exactly what I want it to do. So a 9700ish phone with touch screen is my dream device.
Going to buy 3 of them. One to use and 2 to put on a shelf for when the first gets old and broken. Last device I may ever buy.

It would have to be some serious fancy upgrade to make me want it. Like I said before, my 9700 is almost perfect for my work phone. Throw in touch screen AND better specs, wow, I am done. I am not one of the gotta have latest and greatest gadgets type person. If it does what I want it to do then I am happy. And I don't fully understand what QNX really brings to the table. You are right, it could be a game changer but I really don't see how when I am happy with what I got.
I'll pay up to $650 + tax in Canada based on the Torch being $609. But I don't really care. I'm getting it no matter what! Funny thing is I'm up for a contract renewal in December but there's no way I'm gonna wait 3 months.

The price is set based on the carrier and RIM. AT&T has over 30 million customers. That's close to Canada's population. So AT&T will buy a lot more BlackBerry's from RIM than Rogers. Because of that, AT&T gets them at a lower cost than Rogers. That's why AT&T's buyout prices will always be cheaper than Robbers, I mean Rogers. So don't just blame RIM for the pricing. Apple operates differently. They call all the shots, not the carriers.
Having said that, I'll pay whatever the cost is for the 9900. Whether it be on an upgrade or outright purchase.
The max I've paid before is $600 on a Nexus S att 3g compatible. The new Bold better be less than $600 or I will consider other phones (aka the iphone). My current contract isn't up for renewal until October so hopefully ill get it for $199. Another thing I could do is wait about two weeks then go to best buy. They ALWAYS lower prices after two weeks.

I remember when Rogers carried the Bold 9000 and were selling it off contract for $649, and that was when the 9700 was out (and selling for less money :s). Wouldn't be surprised if Rogers prices this thing at $649 off contract.. In which case I will be getting the iPhone 5..
