I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I really want to get the 9930 on vzw, but I'm worried from hearing about all these bolds that are bricking and dying.
So is this a major issue? or should I just get it?
Same here only I want to get the 9930 from Sprint, but with all the bricking/nuking post I'm not sure that would be the right choice at the moment. I hope this problem clears up soon before my upgrade
Mine was bricked yesterday after I woke up and went for the phone to remove from the charger it was in continous red light of death loop!
Am on AIRTEL - INDIA and its an unlocked phone I picked up for USD 650!! I took it to service center and they had not clue on how to fix it! Demanded a replacement they said they would get back to me in a week!!! They did not give me a standby phone even!
I am without a Blackberry for few days now till they sort the mess out and am using an iPhone at the moment
Btw is a three month old purchase!

Reason: to add how olds the purchase
Mine bricked too. It was less than 3 months old. Unlocked BB 9900. I sold my 9700 because I thought I wouldn't need it. Now I'm using my friend's old 9300.
Had to send it to UK for replacement because I bought it from there and there are no BB service centers where I am.
Mine bricked, I had to take it for repair in Hong Kong where I didn't have a warranty'
They replaced the screen and the main board apparently, cost me $700 and two weeks. But everything works again. I'm not really sure the issue is solved so here's to hoping nothing else happens to my 9900
I have a solution to the bricking. I'm going to buy another battery and an external charger and never hook my phone to a charger. I'm simply going to rotate the two batteries. haha. sounds good right?
My BB9930 with Sprint is bricked - just bought it 5 weeks ago...woke up three mornings in a row to dead phone and red light flashing....nothing...just sits there like a bum.
My 2 cents is dont buy this - wait until they fix the problem.
