    Hey CB,

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I really want to get the 9930 on vzw, but I'm worried from hearing about all these bolds that are bricking and dying.

So is this a major issue? or should I just get it?

There seems to be a lot of 9930s bricking/nuking. Read through the forums. I'm waiting on the 9930 until the issue is resolved.

If you don't mind possibly having to reload the OS after it bricks, go for it. Otherwise, wait it out.

I started to compile a list of the bricking threads. There's too many to keep up though.

Same here only I want to get the 9930 from Sprint, but with all the bricking/nuking post I'm not sure that would be the right choice at the moment. I hope this problem clears up soon before my upgrade

It is interesting that a lot of people complaining about bricking don't show the 9900 as their device in their profile. Just saying.

If it does brick, you'll have a warranty to take care of the problem.

Mine was bricked yesterday after I woke up and went for the phone to remove from the charger it was in continous red light of death loop!
Am on AIRTEL - INDIA and its an unlocked phone I picked up for USD 650!! I took it to service center and they had not clue on how to fix it! Demanded a replacement they said they would get back to me in a week!!! They did not give me a standby phone even!
I am without a Blackberry for few days now till they sort the mess out and am using an iPhone at the moment
Btw is a three month old purchase!

Mine bricked too. It was less than 3 months old. Unlocked BB 9900. I sold my 9700 because I thought I wouldn't need it. Now I'm using my friend's old 9300.

Had to send it to UK for replacement because I bought it from there and there are no BB service centers where I am.

    Gonna be a long wait.

Mine bricked, I had to take it for repair in Hong Kong where I didn't have a warranty'

They replaced the screen and the main board apparently, cost me $700 and two weeks. But everything works again. I'm not really sure the issue is solved so here's to hoping nothing else happens to my 9900

I have a solution to the bricking. I'm going to buy another battery and an external charger and never hook my phone to a charger. I'm simply going to rotate the two batteries. haha. sounds good right?

My BB9930 with Sprint is bricked - just bought it 5 weeks ago...woke up three mornings in a row to dead phone and red light flashing....nothing...just sits there like a bum.

My 2 cents is dont buy this - wait until they fix the problem.
