How long should one charge his battery the first time to get the best out of it?

I know in the old days you had to give an initial charge for 8 hours even if the battery shows full.

Now I knows BB's use Lithium Ion batteries which work a bit differently...

till its charged lol, there is not set time. lithium batteries dont have memory like old batteries and dont need to be broken in. dont even need to fully charge it

But it only takes like an hour or so for it to be charged. Are you sure that's it?

takes a little more than an hour. and yes im sure, been running BB for over 3 years now.

some people say to let it fully discharge every once in a while as good measure but i never have and dont see the point. there are no charging rules with lithium ion batteries

Not required...just wasting a perfectly good wall socket and 7-8 hours of time.
