I feel your pain. The first time I did a security wipe, it took freaking 45 minutes for it to reboot back up. Very odd I must say. Now it takes less than 2 minutes. Probably something with the OS or bad apps.

MY BB Bold 9900 loaded with OS 7.0.0.353 takes about 10 even up to 15 mins just to boot up, the initial boot up will be pretty fast but stuck or slow down when reaches 3/4 mark... Not sure if it's hardware or software issue, just wanna find out from you guys, how long does yours take to bootup?
My 9930 got stuck in about a 5 or 6 min bootup right at the 3/4 progress mark...I smelled something wrong, so didn't wait any longer so pulled the battery out again, back up in probably 1:45

3-5 minutes. Mine too pauses at about 3/4 reboot. But so did my 9550. It's just a pause and then progress resumes.

    Bold 9900
    OS 7.0.0.261
    Bell Mobility
    * OS was installed a couple days ago
    REMOVED FROM OS:
    - All fonts except Latin Truetype and European SFF
    - All languages except English
    - Visual voice mail, voice notes, games api, tasks, help, and virtual keyboard
    - Default wallpapers, ringtones, PDFs, and avatars
    ADDED TO OS:
    * Only listing apps with processes that launch on start-up; checked with JVM Engineering Screen, Processes
    - Cue
    - MediaKeyBooster
    - Facebook
    - BB AppWorld
    - DocsToGo "not entirely sure if this has processes that launch on start-up"

    Testing Settings:
    - Radio, Wifi, Bluetooth, and NFC are turned OFF
    - Average 2 tests
    - Start time begins when the red light turns on
    - Start time ends when the trackpad is enabled AND movement is smooth
    * The radio is turned off because if reception is poor it can take longer for control of the trackpad to be enabled

Soft Battery Pull = 120 seconds

Hard Battery Pull = 130 seconds

Note on shrunk OS: the only subjectively noticeable difference for boot times was from removing the extra fonts.

1 minute 45 seconds for me with .353, which is the fastest booting OS I'v seen on this device yet...have Poynt, XE.com and Digital Watchdog DVR client installed as 3rd party apps. No social feeds, and only one language installed.

Mine reboots in just over 90 seconds. As far as I'm concerned. That is Amazing. Especially, since I owned a 9630 before this. And that took forever to reboot.

I'm still surprised that a BB 9900 takes longer to boot than an iPhone 3GS (30 seconds) and my desktop computer, especially since one of their advertised core values is speed.

90 seconds is super fast but what OS are you using? Is your memory cleaning disabled? I'm still trying to figure out what is taking my BB Bold to boot up!

If you use .353, don't your BB experience charging issue? Like you have to reboot to resume normal charging or else, when you plug in, your BB won't charge no matter what? And it show error message and your battery icon will show the "plug" symbol for your battery?

Did you use BB Boss to srhink your OS? If yes, do you mind showing your template or options you use to shrink your OS? You shrink it direct to your BB?

If not, what software you use to shrink?
