    Is there an official of 261?

    And how good is it compared to 317 and 296?

    I notice there is a bit of a lag while browsing with both 317 and 296 and this is on WiFi + 3G

    Any download links?

    Battery life is the main element here. .261 has been the best compared to the other two. 296 is the worst by far, i cant even make it a full day with this build. 317 is about day and a quarter. 261 gives me a good 1.7 discharge rate per hour.

    I'm surprised that no 9900 users have tried a .340 Java swap yet

    .261 is what came on my device and is working well. I doubt changing to a new OS will stop the "lag while browsing via WiFi". This is more likely at WiFi thing

    Phill, did you get your 9900 yet? I think too dicey to full swap .340 java because CDMA may not play well. But there is a nice hybrid OS by BBTweaks with lots of .340 files in it.

    I experienced a number of bugs on my 9900 with stock Rogers (j).261 firmware:
    - fast battery discharge rate
    - random complete signal drop-offs - or gradual signal drop-off: H+-->Edge-->SOS
    - Back button wouldn't work after taking phone out of holster
    - pronounced lag when switching applications (random lags)

    Upgraded to Vodafone .296 and no more problems. Battery life is better, but not stellar.

    I had none of these problems. Like I said the 261 works good for me, if it did not I would upgrade but all is good here.

    I will wait for an upgrade that adds a new feature as my 9900 works great!
