It's not a "dumb program". And a tiny bit of research would have revealed that that's not what DropBox is for.
Use it on your computer to email a link to the file to the other person. Or use the functionality within the BlackBerry app to email a link to the file to the other person. Simple as that.
Most likely, however, you will have a difficult time downloading a 26MB file over a carrier network anyway. You need to use a WiFi network.
Is it just me or does Dropbox for BlackBerry seem limited, compared to using it on an iPhone\iOS device?
I could have sworn I could open items etc on my iPhone. Doesn't seem that way [well not easily] on my BlackBerry 9900 [T-Mobile]
PS: I just tested documents, and they work fine. But, images are a pain. You can't simply open an image, and 'save as wallpaper', or even save to your device. Terrible really.

That would be ridiculously shortsighted. On Android, I can open up documents, download, upload, link via url, and share to social networks, email, etc. I can even play mp3s directly from the app.
