    Hello,

Today I noticed that when I'm taking out my 9900 out of its OEM holster it is no longer waking up. And when I put the phone in the holster it is not going to sleep.

The only thing relevant that I can think of is my friend putting his torch in my holster a couple of days ago. But logically that can't be the reason.

    Any idea ?

    OS .440

My 9930 isn't waking up when I take it out of the holster, but does go into sleep mode when inserted. I'm using .374 with Verizon.

    it should and mine did.

Edit: Can this be a software mess up? Is it a possibility or is the waking/sleeping by the holster done only by hardware ? Because since it used to work and I can't how it can be faulty hardware.

Did the sleeper magnet fall out by any chance?

    how can I check ?

Edit: I think I figured it out. My holster must have gotten "too big"/too loosened. So the magnet the right distance from the phone when it was in it. I put a few books over the lower part of the holster to decrease it size. Now it works most of the times. I need to find a way to get that tight squeeze I had when I first got the phone.

Or get a new holster. If its the US device, you can also put the device in facing out. There are two magnets in the oem holster.

Device goes FACING IN, not OUT; even though there are two magnets, it's not recommended to put the device facing out. That could be the 1st issue. 2nd issue, is this an original RIM 99XX holster? If not, that is the problem.

I'm not so sure about that. There is another thread where people are suggesting the phone should be face out because of blinking led can be viewed that way.

It is the original holster that came with my phone and my phone used to go to sleep when I rest it over a certain spot on the case.

Then you're basically screwed and you'll need a new case. It should be covered under warranty though. Even stretching it should not cause that issue. Have you tried it face in and face out?

    Either way, it works
