His and hers 9900's on the way
Last night I took the plunge and ordered 9900's for me and Mrs Pilchard from O2 in the UK. I ordered through Quidco so will receive 100 cash back on each (kudos to this forum for the idea) and also 250 worth of free Arsenal sports kit (no wisecracks any Tottenham fans, it was definitely hand ball!)
I know the new iPhone 5 launches in two days, but having pondered the matter carefully I realise it still has to be Blackberry for me. Familiarity, useability, keyboard, BBM's, PIN's, instant email: I can't see me leaving these behind just yet. Also from a price point of view the 9900 is noticeably cheaper.
I did consider waiting for a QNX phone as I had to sign up for 2 years, but my experience with the Playbook made me cynical, and who knows when these new phones will really be out anyway.
Our Bold 9000's were on their last legs having been thrashed to death, and the lack of application memory meant I could not use Google maps, for instance.
My three main hopes are that 1) they don't take long to arrive (I read they are in short supply); 2) they are good examples of 9900's and not dodgy ones (there are lots of posts about poor QC) and; 3) I can work out how to use Google sync to have our two calendars in sync just like they do with our 9000's.
Hopefully these will work well for us and when we come to renew in 2 years' time QNX will be kicking iOS in the ****
