Hi,
My 9900 is working fine, no problems at all. But if I want to fix this problem do I have to replace the whole LCD, the digitizer or what? The crack doesn't affect the screen, just the BB logo area. Thanks!

Here is a you tube that shows you step by step. Not real hard 6 screws
Blackberry Bold 9900 Teardown Directions by DirectFix.com - YouTube
I learned the hard way and just replaced the Digitizer. It wasnt done correctly as you need to use a heat gun up to 420 degrees to break the adhesive and if its not replaced correctly you get massive dust between the digitizer and lcd. It has made my screen hard to see and messes up the proxsimity sensor. Get both for about 49.00 on Amazon Replacing the whole thing is actually easier.
hey guys sorry for butting in but what video would be best for me because i want to change my houseing?? thanks for your help?
This video shows a total tear down so you can use it for that also.
like travaz said....dont be tempted to try to do your digitizer...its hard for a full shop in a dust free environment...dont do it at home!! LOL If you bought all red housing..its gonna be tough because those kits only come with the digitizer NOT installed on an lcd....(ie, pink red green blue, ETC)
GOOD LUCK!! *Grins*
Check out my thread http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...ml#post7858799 it has some cool pics and great links on where to buy parts!
i did it :D
Maybe you only have to replace the digitizer, but it will be difficult. You'd better go the the repair shop.
I found this place online Search - 9900
They will replace the glass screen for $80 and give you a 90 day warranty.
