Hi everyone,

My 9900 was bought directly from RIM and came unlocked, I'm currently with Virgin Mobile Canada.
Which OS7.1 update should I be using? The Virgin one was just released but should I be using that or an official one from RIM? When I plugged the phone into my laptop to check for update Desktop Manager couldn't find any new updates yet, so should I grab the Virgin release or wait.

Sorry if that's a dumb question as I'm very obviously a noob at this.

Grab any of them, it doesn't matter... you won't get one from RIM for your phone.

Like Phill said, RIM won't release any updates directly to you. They go through the phone providers. You can go to the Virgin website and they should have a page that shows the current version of the software they support for the particular phone you have. If you want something more up to date, then check out the various leak forums here on Crackberry. There is probably something you can find.
