Just wondering on the popularity of this phone. After being out for over a month now I am wounding, has anyone else spotted this phone being used by anyone else?

I travel weekly and find myself sitting at a hotel bar or restaurant, a late night businessy environment. I see a lot of old Bolds and Curves but no one with a new one. A few strangers have asked about my phone. I let them play with it for a bit and they love it. Most say that they are due for an upgrade but didn't know there was anything new available ( in BBs). It seems such a shame to me that people are using these old phones thinking that they are the best BB has to offer.

I've seen quite a few kicking around. And the few people I've talked to about it love theirs.

Out of the new BB7 devices I have only seen a Torch 9810 and that's because my good friend has one. That being the reason I could tell it was a 9810 lol

I've only seen the 9810 because my friend has one. Haven't seen any 99xx bolds though. Most of the people around here have iPhones.

Recently a bunch of guys I know went together to get rid of their iphone 4s and get BB 9930s. They decided that the all touchscreen model wasnt really for them. Just in time for the new BBX phone, all touchscreen most likely.

In ohio, where I'm from/at, blackberries are rare and no one seems to want one. Droid & iphone rules the phone world here, try to convert & have only successfully converted 2 people so far. I just visited san antonio and austin (last week) and was thoroughly suprirsed at the amount of blackberry users I saw everywhere! Most people had old (8330) curves and torches, but I did catch someone with a 99xx at the incubus concert in austin on oct 1st! I wish blackberry's weren't confined to bigger cities, which is what I've tended to notice.

3 of my friends have gotten one (after I have tweeted about it or shown them in person) and just the other night I saw an older businessman at a bar that had one. I think he felt "hip" (as the older people say) when he saw me and this girl I was with on our BlackBerrys, because he was watching us type and show each other pictures (me on my 9900, her on her 9650). The other older people in the bar had weird Samsung full qwerty phones, and of course the iPhone.

I've yet to see a 9860, but my friend had a 9810 that I got to play around with. I've seen plenty of 9900s in the wild though. Heck, the other day I saw a fellow with a 9900 and a PlayBook. I thought I was the only one with both around here in Vancouver. :P
