I have just upgraded to the 9900 and notice that Google Maps does not come installed. I searched for it in the Blackberry App World but it does not show up. Am i doing something wrong or how can I get it? (I can't handle Blackberry maps).

    Thanks

Go to this web site. It tells you how to do it.

Type maps.google.com in your browser... It'll take you to the link.

I installed Google Maps but it does not work, it just tries to get my location but it never does. My Blackberry map app cannot locate me either even though I have GPS enabled. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Which device and what are your location settings? Open up options then start typing "location".

    Should be in this order:

    Device GPS
    Location On
    Enabled
    Enabled

I'm not a huge fan of the Bing search service but the bing maps for 9900 is awesome and much faster than GMaps. It is available in AppWorld

    Dustahn,

    Thanks for your help.
My settings are just as you mentioned and I am also suiting next to the window so gps signal strength should not be a problem.

Does a simple battery pull help?

Battery pull does not resolve the issue, neither maps work.

BlackBerry maps should come preloaded on your device and also check out BlackBerry Traffic for turn by turn navigation

Blackberry Traffic is fantastic. Love it.
I had bad experiences with Google Maps on my 9930. Each time my phones nuked I had loaded and used Google Maps. That's twice in my first 9930, twice in my replacement 9930, and once on my 9810.
I deleted it and won't be using again. Coincidence? Maybe. But I'm not tempting Fate again.

Didn't AT&T disable BB Maps? I've got vague memories of something about that.

I had this issue a few times, and a battery pull seemed to fix it. Have you tried that OP?

Also someone mentioned having your location enabled, try that too.

I cannot begin to explain how much I dislike google maps. Maybe it's just bad on blsckberrys up it never seems to work at the time I need it.

Is there another app I should consider?
