At my home, I have coverage from Sprint, but not from AT&T or T-mobile. I purchased a Sprint BB Bold 9930. I would like to use the phone. For my purposes, I'm not concerned about BIS or using a Cellular data plan. What I want is QWERTY for SMS. Managing contacts, calendar, MP3 files, camera images, and note taking from home WiFi.

I have attempted to use the 9930 on several Sprint MVNO operators on Sprint, but was told Sprint does not allow MVNO operators to support BB phones. I just made a call to Sprint and the agent told me Sprint does not support this phone any more. He suggested, though, that one of the MVNOs might have marked the phone as theirs, even though they would not put the phone on their plan.

Question: Can I get a plan from Sprint for a Sprint labeled BB Bold 9930?

If Sprint tells you NO... there really isn't much you can do.

If you want a BBOS phone, try T-Mobile or ATT...

The agent wasn't really definitive on "no". Perhaps Sprint is not activating 3G phones any more
