I have not used this OS in a very long time. however, you need to download the new OS, install it to your PC, cable your phone to your PC and then click the loader.exe to install it and follow the prompts. Make sure you have Desktop Manager create a backup of your phone first.

7.1.1098 represents about a year of development (which essentially is comprised of bug fixes as opposed to new features) over the 7.1.3XX builds. It's also the last OS for the Bold.

Here is the how-to for the app loader style of updating / changing: How to Install or Upgrade to a New RIM BlackBerry Operating System (OS) with AppLoader | CrackBerry.com.

Remember to delete the vendor file if it's not for your carrier.

The other way is to use the desktop manager, I'm using 5.0.1, thinking there is a version 7 that was the most current. I think there is a link to it on the article.

I used the desktop manager to install 7.1.0.1066 and it's pretty stable, I've had no issues. I always like to try different OS's until I find a package I like.

    Hope this helps.

    I don't think that version works on 9900.... It's for 9930
