I'm not sure if this gets wiped or not. Does anyone know?
Are you talking about the internal memory on the bold 9900??
Yes the internal memory.
Is there an updated version of BBSAK that supports OS 7?
I don't think they ever specifically said this but I have used it a few times with success on my 9930. I'm talking about the latest 1.9.11 version.
Thank you. I happily donated $5 and look forward to installing it on my windows VM on my Mac.
BBSAK is the cheese!
But noone answered this yet, when you wipe your device using BBSAK does it only wipe the 768 MB or does it also wipe the 8 GB along with it?
Only one way to find out... backup and try it and then report back! I'd do it, except f'in Sprint aint avail yet!
I have BBSAK 1.9.11 and it won't recognize my 9900. Are people having success with it?
I believe that yes a wipe will wipe everything on internal memory.
The only way to know for sure is backup, leave something on there and try it
used bbsak the other day, connected to my 9900 fine and wiped and reset to factory without a single issue...
and no it will not wipe that 8GB as that is "media" storage... you will have to do that manual i believe... maybe email the dev and see if they can add that feature in
You're right. It didn't wipe my music from my 8GB internal. I didn't restore anything and my music's still on there.
Awesome!!!!!!!! So now I can put all my MP3s on my 16 GB SC Card and have another 8 GB free to play with! :P
Application and internam memory are 2 different components! BBSAK only wipes application memory because the older Blackberry phones would only have application memory erased not internal memory (9700 had 32mb internam memory :p) soo to answer this question, no it does not. I have about 800mb of music stored on my internal memory and have switched os's 2 times and haven't lost anything.

yep - I can pleasantly confirm same. took the risk before I read the above posts.
Here is what BBSAK site FAQ says:
Connect your phone to Blackberry Desktop Manager and make sure it connects, then close DM. Now open BBSAK hit kill process and then connect, worked for me on my 9930.
This happens to me all the time. You have to usually restart the pc in this situation or occasionally reboot the phone.
My 9930 has been giving me more trouble than my 9550 with wiping/loading an OS. It's some combination with BBSAK, DM, and/or AppLoader that gives trouble at some point. I get it to work eventually though. My 9930 is working wonderfully now and I absolutely love it!
I gave up on using bbsak to reload an OS. I use BBHTools which works every time to fire up the app loader. BBSAK has been a pain for me lately.
the only good thing about BBSAK is the wipe and restore to factory... using it for app loader is just meh... why bother when you can navigate to the actual exe
and they haven't updated BBSAK in ages. I regret donating $5 bucks to them, and have my emails about an updated version and features always ignored :(
Thank god we have Lyricidal on the forums with his great BBH-Tool
