Just curious are there any good police scanner apps?

There's a great little app called Scanner Radio. It's only 99c and they offer a trial version. There's also another called Police Scanner Radio, but I much prefer Scanner Radio. It is faster and has more features. The audio is crisp and loud, will make your 9900 sound like a real scanner. This app catches channels all over the world, including quite a lot in Canada.

So I just went on eBay and purchased a used 9900 (AT&T) for about $75. I'm not sure what good it would do for me since it's not upgradable to OS10 and can't be used with Blackberry Blend. I suppose I can keep it as a backup.

My reasons for this insanity? (lol)

My replacement iPhone 5s has auto rebooted 5 times and this is the second replacement unit I got from the Apple store. I need the iPhone for the many apps I use daily that are not available to Blackberry devices. Another reason is that I miss the keyboard and tool belt. The new Classic is too pricey.

Anyway, do people still actively use these older 9900/9930 devices from 2012, which run on single core with 768mb of ram? What do you do with it besides calls and texting/emailing?

The Bold 9930 has Developers Tools which are "View Source & Copy to Clipboard, Enable Webmaster; also has "Documents Download to go! I have Fed agencies I subscribe to and I use the **Doc to Go App! A lot!! It is A **Business Type Of Smartphone; It doesn't Have All The "Juvenille Apps that are Popular with Younger Persons; but I am "62" & have worked on Computers since mid-1972! So, This Bold 9930 does all I need and Want!?

    haha good deal!

Some of us are doing EVERYTHING with them that we did on our iphones......Twitter, FB, Whatsapp, I upload Youtube vids, Photo editing, News apps, you name it. Just don't expect it to Facetime

My 5C never had the rebooting issue, although I have heard of this.

I had NO IDEA, and I have had three BlackBerry 10 phones!!! No one tells you this stuff!!

    Got that right.

Passport SE: All the snooty prestige of a device with a precious metal in the name at less than half the price!
Also, the DAC in my Z10 is vastly superior to the iPhone 5. I can't speak for iPhone 6, but I'd expect the same.
